£0 remaining for rent arrears
M, who is experiencing some very serious financial difficulties, lost his accommodation then became street homeless and was not able to maintain a job. This led to him experiencing a decline in his mental health, as everything in life seemed to be out of reach. M lives in a rural location and needs public transport to get anywhere, including the Department of Work and Pensions appointments. He needs £200 to clear his rent arrears, as he is now living in supported housing and only receives the very bare minimum of benefits.
T and her husband are working with Christians Against Poverty to sort their finances, and are in the middle of a repayment plan to get rid of their debt. Their budget is tight, so their freezer not working properly has thrown them. I would love to help them sort a replacement, as its a real worry for them. Thank you for reading this.
D has come far from his homelessness and drug habits, and has started to rebuild his life. He still has disabilities, and claims Personal Independence Payment and Universal Credit, but is no longer drug taking. D is in supportive living, but has had to pay for extra support which he was not told about and, due to very low income, this has caught up with him and is in arrears. He has not been eating properly and not taking hygienic care of himself, due to trying to clear the arrears.
This young man went into insolvency due to astronomical rents and a motorcycle accident, just after lockdown. He received Statutory Sick Pay, which he struggled to cover all his expenses on. Shortage of affordable housing has it made very difficult to find somewhere affordable and he has been working over fifty hours a week lately to provide for the rental deposit on a new place. This young man is now in need of a washing machine/dryer and it would be great to help him collaboratively to make ends meet.
