Success Stories

The following are some of the success stories.

  • Lawn Mower

A young man discussed an idea about improving some work he does for the elderly in his area. He wanted to do more but could not afford to buy a lawn mower, which is where ACTS 435 came in. We purchased a lawn mower and were given a free strimmer as well.

  • Help with funeral costs

The applicant wishes to thank Acts 435 donors for their kind donation that helped her family at a time of need when they were going through a difficult time with the loss of a loved one. Having the donation helped relieve some of the stress involved. Thank you very much.

  • Student on Course!

Claire has started a Health & Social Care Course at college and is very grateful for the 2 course books we were able to purchase for her via the support from Acts435.

  • No furnishings at all!

Amanda and her children were fleeing violence and their new home was almost bare. Thanks to Acts 435 donors she and her children have the beginnings of a home.

  • Microwave & Carpet

Jackie was thrilled to receive help from Acts 435 for a new microwave. Things have been very hard for Jackie for quite some time and this has come as a welcome boost and she has enough left over to put towards her new flooring!

  • Fridge Freezer

Nicola was very pleased - even shocked to hear she had received money to purchase her fridge freezer. 'Thank you to everyone who has supported me', she said.

  • Safety in the kitchen restored!

Thanks to Acts 435 donors, £50 was raised for an extra tall stair gate to keep Daniel's very active 2 year old out of mischief in the kitchen, where she had been climbing onto any surface she could manage. The stair gate is fantastic, and the applicant very thankful for the help. It arrived really quickly and is just the job.

  • Moses basket for expected baby.

An applicant in Hull was very happy to receive a generous donation of £90 from Acts 435 and is looking forward to going shopping for the Moses basket and other necessities for the baby. This will be a big boost to her ability to provide for her baby and she is most grateful.

  • Bicycle

After Acts 435 provided £100 for a bicycle for this young lady to attend her placement and improve her employment prospects, the local bike shop generously made up the difference in cost. Her quest for work will be much easier now

  • Assistance with taxi fares to hospital.

This lady who is disabled was really desperate as she cannot use public transport because she is in a wheelchair and wanted to see her husband, who was in hospital for some time. A donation of £100 helped considerably with the expenses and reduced some of the strain on her benefits.
