£0 remaining for two single bed mattresses and a sofa
M is a single parent of three children who fled domestic abuse in Poland. The children have significant additional needs; the seventeen year old has Autism Spectrum Disorder and selective mutism, the eleven year old is attending a specialist educational setting, due to anxiety and selective mutism, and the sixteen year old is having specialist support for anxiety. The whole family have been traumatised by their life experiences and are setting up a new, safe home, but they need a sofa and two bed mattresses to make their home comfortable.
R is a single mum with three young children who has escaped domestic violence from the father of her children. The family has had to start afresh in a new town and new home, with no finances or possessions to furnish it. R is currently not working, due to the impact of the domestic violence on her mental health, so is dependent on basic benefits with no savings. Riviera Life church has provided beds and bedding for the family, but they desperately need a cooker and would be grateful for any help towards it.
Our resident, who is in his twenties and is in receipt of benefits, has been in our supported accommodation for over sixteen months. We have now found suitable accommodation for him, with the local authority, and he is starting the process of moving. The accommodation lacks carpets, which we have been able to source some funding for, however, he needs to pay for a local carpet fitter to fit the carpets throughout the flat. This will help to make it feel like a home and also keep the flat warm.
Our client, who has been homeless for 190 days, has no phone so nobody can get hold of him. If we could get him an economical phone, that would be great. He is also just in the clothes he is wearing and carrying around some coats, jumpers etc., so some clothes would assist. Our client has a history of mental illness and tried to live closer to family for support, but this was from years ago so wasn't accepted. He has tried emergency accommodation, but he doesn't want to go back there, due to his mental health. Please can we help him with clothes and a mobile phone?
