Give to someone in need
Acts 435 is about giving to people directly, to help them bridge the gap when they are facing a financial crisis.
Can you help a specific person in need?
Read stories of the applicants below and give as you feel able. Any amount will make a big difference to someone who is struggling.
You can instead make a general donation and the Acts 435 team will allocate it to the most urgent requests.

Total needed £200DB is a young single mum who works part-time whilst claiming benefits. Due to the thresholds of Universal Credit, her wages often mean she is classed as earning above their threshold and she then receives no benefits. This has put incredible pressure on DB, as she has to pay additional nursery fees to attend work, and also travel to and from work and nursery. She currently owes the nursery £200 in fees and has no means of clearing this debt without accruing debt somewhere else.

Total needed £200Our foodbank client has two young children and is unable to work as both children are high need. She is on benefits alone and cannot save large amounts as she needs to constantly support her children. Mum lives far away from her family, who are unable to financially support her. She has no recourse to public funds. The double buggy will be for her three month old and one and a half year old. The buggy will help her get around her local area and will allow her children to travel safely.

Total needed £200M, who is mum to two autistic children, has no floor coverings in her home and, unfortunately, the children really suffer without carpets, to the point that it's a real struggle for them to relax in their home. M has no savings and doesn't work so her income is low. She can't afford carpets, but we can provide them free of charge if we could get a little help with the fitting costs. Please can you help us to make her house safe and comfortable for her children?

Total needed £200N is a single father of three children. Recently, his youngest daughter's mental health struggles have escalated and she has been hospitalised, requiring N to take temporary, unpaid leave of absence from work to support her. With no other family members available to provide support, N finds himself under considerable financial pressure. Your support would greatly alleviate some of this burden, allowing N to purchase essentials, such as food, and cover essential bills.

Total needed £150R has been living in shared accommodation for over seven years after splitting from his family. This was problematic, as his ten year old son could never stay with him, due to the risk posed by the other tenants. R has now been given his first home by Birmingham City Council, which means he can have his son to stay with him at weekends. However, he does not have a cooker. R would like to apply for donations from Acts 435 to buy a cooker so that he can cook meals for himself and his son, when he stays.

Total needed £200S and his partner have recently found out they expecting a new baby soon, which has come as a big shock to them, as they already have four children and thought their family was complete. S really struggled when he approached us for help, as he recently lost his job and cannot provide for his family currently. He is constantly applying for new jobs, but nothing has come up yet. The family has nothing ready for the baby, as there is nothing left out of the benefits, once the bills have been paid.
