Give to someone in need
Acts 435 is about giving to people directly, to help them bridge the gap when they are facing a financial crisis.
Can you help a specific person in need?
Read stories of the applicants below and give as you feel able. Any amount will make a big difference to someone who is struggling.
You can instead make a general donation and the Acts 435 team will allocate it to the most urgent requests.

Please can you help her?

Total needed £150A is a victim of a family relationship breakdown, to the extent that she felt she had to leave home. She was managing ok until she was made redundant during the pandemic. Although she found other employment, it depended on her having a car, which was scrapped in June. Her options are now limited, as she cannot afford another car and, on her current low income, cannot clear the debts she accrued whilst not working. A Debt Relief Order will help her make a fresh start to move forward again.

Total needed £90J is a single mum who is struggling with debt and her debt problems have led to mental health problems. She is working hard with Christians Against Poverty (CAP) to sort everything out, has a part time job and is engaging really well with the CAP debt process. A Debt Relief Order is the best option J has to deal with her debt, but this needs a £90 application fee, which she cannot afford. If we could help J with this, it would give her hope for the future and she will be able to move on.

Total needed £150Our amazing Grandmum came into the Social Supermarket asking if we could supply her with a free food voucher, as she has to save up for the new school uniform for her grandson who she has custody of. He starts his new school in September. This poor child has been through so much over the last year, watching his mum in a bad place. Let us help him reduce the stress of going to a new school, which can be daunting when he already knows some of the children. This is a fresh start for him- let's make him happy!

Total needed £150This lady has had to leave her home with her young children, due to a traumatic domestic situation. She has temporary accommodation with a family member which is very limited on space/storage. Mum would like support to buy some personal storage, such as a bedside unit and a chest of drawers, in order to have some of her own space, plus some essential items for the children, to enable them to feel more at home. These items can then be used when she eventually gets a new home of her own.

Total needed £150X worked for years before becoming ill earlier this year. He became homeless when his private rented Landlord needed his property back and he could not afford the increased rental costs to get another private rented property. He has now secured a Council property for himself and his two children, but cannot afford to replace the basic kitchen and bathroom items he had to leave behind when he became homeless. Supermarket vouchers would enable him to buy new. Please help if you can.

Total needed £115L, a young man with Autism, moved out of Supported Living into his own Council flat earlier this year. Having broken his bed frame, he has been sleeping on an old mattress on the floor since he moved in. His flat is over a walkway, so the floor gets cold during the winter. His bedroom is so small that there is no space for a chest of drawers, instead he piles clothes on the mattress. A new divan base would help promote his organisational skills and mean he is warmer in bed during the winter.

Total needed £150A family have been placed here by the Police, for their own safety, to escape a drugs ring and modern day slavery. The landlord emptied their house prematurely, disposing of all their possessions and documents. In order to find work, mum needs to go to London for new ID documents. They can only just manage on benefits and church food parcels. A little help with obtaining a train ticket will mean they can get replacement ID documents and get access to employment and housing.

They really need a break, but can't really afford a holiday as they are on a low level of pension. We'd love to help them have a break for a few days to get away from it all, and recharge. He has now signed up for a tenancy and has been able to obtain some items, but is not in a financial position to purchase a gas cooker.
