Give to someone in need
Acts 435 is about giving to people directly, to help them bridge the gap when they are facing a financial crisis.
Can you help a specific person in need?
Read stories of the applicants below and give as you feel able. Any amount will make a big difference to someone who is struggling.
You can instead make a general donation and the Acts 435 team will allocate it to the most urgent requests.

Safe Families are supporting a single mum, with a young boy, who have just moved areas, due to being targeted within their previous community. Mum is unable to work, due to the demands of caring for her son, and is struggling financially. The family have limited furniture and places to store their clothes. Providing the family with these drawers would allow them to help make their house a home. Mum is unable to afford to provide these herself due to not working.

She is struggling on the amount she is earning and is finding that this is not covering her bills and living costs. Providing these drawers for the little girl's room will help to make their new house more homely and provide storage for the little girl's clothes.

Total needed £150Our tenant is a young man who has been without a stable home for the last two years and has been sofa surfing between friends and family, but is no longer able to do so. He has a small child that he has weekend contact with, and having a home would give him a consistent place to parent him. He would be really grateful of your support to help set him up in his new home, as he has no furniture or household items.

Total needed £100This young couple had been sofa surfing for around two years before they contacted Housing Solutions. Their living situation had contributed to mental health issues and they were struggling to survive. I met with them to show them a property, which they accepted. They have been given lots of items from the community, family, friends and charity, but are struggling to buy curtains and blinds to give them privacy and security. They have also got behind with their gas and electric bills. Please can you help them? Thank you!

Total needed £150Our client is currently living in temporary accommodation with partner and children aged three years old and eighteen months. A conflict with neighbours threatening to burn their family home has; unfortunately, put them in this situation. Terrified, they have had to flee, and have left their possessions behind. As a charity, we have helped with a food parcel, but would further like to help with enabling them to get some gas and electric on at the property.

Total needed £50D is a qualified electrician with over twenty years experience. Due to his convictions, he's found it hard to secure work. When he came to see us at the end of May, he was about to be made homeless, as the Landlord was selling up. We helped him find new accommodation and; wonderfully, his new Landlord has also offered him a job as a Handyman, maintaining their properties. Please can you help D with the final piece in the puzzle, by funding much needed work tools to enable him to succeed? Thank you!

Total needed £150A was released from prison two weeks ago. He has been in and out of jail since he was eighteen and just spent his thirtieth birthday inside. Realising this isn't the life he wants to live, he is determined to turn his life around. He now has stable housing and is working with us to get himself into a paid job, but needs his Right to Work documents in order to start applying for jobs. We have requested everything else he needs, and built a CV, so this is the last piece of the jigsaw that will enable him to move on.

Total needed £35S is twenty seven years of age and has found it hard to progress into long term employment, with progression opportunities, due to his single spent conviction of being drunk and disorderly. This travel ticket will assist him for the first week of a fully paid apprenticeship with a well known Asian food chain, which will see him qualify as a fully trained chef.

Total needed £40D was sofa surfing from the age of twelve. By the age of seventeen, he had earned enough money to have his own flat from dealing drugs . However, his life of crime meant time in prison and when he came out, he came with no ID whatsoever. He needed a Right to Work document so we felt it best to get him a Birth Certificate, for which he was grateful.

Total needed £35M has recently been released on probation and relocated to the area for a fresh start. Due to lack of funds, he has nothing and is unable to buy many items for his new accommodation, especially to enable him to cook. A cooker would help him so much to be independent and cook decent meals for himself.

Total needed £150This gentleman has recently struggled with his mental health, which has resulted in him not having the funds to travel to his employment. He is now in a better place and we feel his employment is the vital thing in his life that is providing him his with stability. We are asking for a one month bus ticket that will be paid directly to the company concerned. This act of kindness will; hopefully, provide him with the opportunity to maintain his employment, which can be so difficult following his struggles.
