Give to someone in need
Acts 435 is about giving to people directly, to help them bridge the gap when they are facing a financial crisis.
Can you help a specific person in need?
Read stories of the applicants below and give as you feel able. Any amount will make a big difference to someone who is struggling.
You can instead make a general donation and the Acts 435 team will allocate it to the most urgent requests.
W is fifty five years old and came to this country fleeing domestic violence. She is requesting asylum here and is struggling with mental health issues and loneliness. Her phone screen is broken and she can only receive incoming calls, but she speaks Cantonese, needs an interpreter and to use google translate, in order to communicate with her solicitor. Having help now would make a big difference to W's wellbeing and potentially to her chances of being able to settle and rebuild her life.
Still £75 left to donate
Total needed £75R has been known to our homeless day centre for a while now and has been doing really well to engage with us. He also secured a space in our winter shelter. Unfortunately, his phone was lost and so we would like to help him replace it. R uses his phone to stay in contact with his family and to communicate with all the wonderful organisations who are helping him secure status in the UK.
Still £45 left to donate
Total needed £50This request is for two asylum seekers, a couple with a new born baby. At the moment they share a phone and are in need of another phone so they can contact one another and communicate when they are separate, mostly about things for the baby. Thank you for your help.
Still £100 left to donate
Total needed £100V, who lost his ID and any other documentation in a fire a few years ago, is currently trying to obtain settled status, despite the loss of documentation, and is working with a solicitor to do so. However, his phone recently stopped working and he has no other means to stay in contact with his solicitor. V is rough sleeping and requires medical attention. He needs an £80 voucher for a new phone and a £20 top-up Oyster card for travel expenses to meet his solicitor.
