£0 remaining for a television
Safe Families are supporting mum and dad and their two children. They are struggling financially and finding it hard to maintain their home conditions. The children have additional needs which are being assessed at school to draw in support. They are finding it hard to manage all the needs and make ends meet. Their television has recently broken and they are unable to afford a new one. Although a TV may seem like a luxury item, for this family it is valuable down-time from a hectic household. Thank you!
J is thirty four years old has just been given a tenancy agreement after going through rehabilitation for the last year. He is so proud of himself for overcoming his drink problem and getting this chance of a fresh start. J is on benefits so cannot afford to buy very much. His friend has helped him buy some bits, but he desperately needs a cooker. He loves to cook and this is a good distraction for him, and keeps him busy. Please could you help him find his love for cooking again? Thank you!
G is a lovely eighty three year old gentleman who we suspect is suffering financial coercion, but we cannot prove it yet as he is too afraid to tell us very much. When we recently did a home visit, we found his fridge freezer is not working properly. It has mould inside and has a terrible smell, and is also not as cold as it should be. G has his pension coming in, although we don`t know where it goes. He is a very proud man who feels ashamed he is having to ask for help at his age. Please can you help him?
P is a single mum with a young teenage daughter. They moved to the area after fleeing domestic violence, have settled here very well and mum is starting to make friends in the community. P is on benefits as she is unable to work, due to illness. She budgets right down to the very last penny and there is no room for error. P has nothing left after she has paid her priority bills and bought essentials. Her fridge freezer has broken and she has no way of replacing it. Please can you help her?
