£0 remaining for a cooker
Our client and her twin daughters, aged ten years old, have been homeless and living in temporary accommodation for some time. They now have a permanent flat, but it is unfurnished and help is needed with a cooker. Mum has spent her savings on the move so has no money to fund this. She is unable to work, due to health problems, and is dependent on benefits. Mum is keen to provide a new stable home for her children and any help you can offer would be very much appreciated.
L, her husband and their two young children have been living in temporary accommodation after being made homeless through no fault of their own. They have now secured a new home in The Midlands to be near family support, as both children have additional needs and the parents are struggling. The family are on benefits and have no savings, as all money has been spent on daily survival in their temporary home. They need to hire a van to move belongings to new home.
Our client's life started to fall apart seven years ago after the death of both his parents, then, tragically, his wife. This led to a complete mental breakdown, unemployment, and eventually homelessness. Although he had many years of homelessness, our client still remained determined and committed to rebuilding his life. This has now started with being housed in a studio flat, but unfortunately, without carpets. Our client would be very grateful for any contribution towards carpet for his new home and new beginning.
J has faced significant mental health challenges throughout his life, which have caused him to experience homelessness. Skating has helped him to break free from isolation, but also allowed him to connect with others who understand his struggles. Skate of Mind combines counselling with skating sessions and has been a beacon of hope for him. This is a second request for six more sessions. J has now gained opportunities to peruse his passion for music. Since working with Skate of Mind, they have linked him with Amplify, which has opened many more doors for him. He uses his sessions to regulate his emotions and looks forward to them. J now skateboards on his down days, which is a working, coping mechanism for him, and he comes back buzzing from his sessions. Skate of Mind has helped him build his confidence massively.
