£0 remaining for a driving test and some lessons
G is rebuilding his life, following an addiction which resulted in him being in prison and losing everything. He has rebuilt most of his life, sorting housing and rebuilding relationships. The one thing left is to get his driving licence back as, due to conviction, he needs to retake his test. The cost of this is prohibitive, due to him being on Universal Credit and not being able to drive, and limiting the job roles he is able to apply for. A theory test is £23, a practical test is £67 and top-up lessons are £45.
Three generations of this family are in the UK due to the war in Ukraine. They have recently applied for benefits and are waiting a decision so currently have limited funds. They are without curtains, bedding and duvets. We have provided the family with warm packs and energy saving measures, however, this will not be sufficient for them to stay warm in the coming months. We have shown them how to heat their home correctly, however, they require these basic items to keep warm.
This family fled violence in Uzbekistan and have recently been granted asylum here, however, the husband has abandoned the family. Mum and her two girls have been moved into a council house. The council have cleaned the property, which was in very poor repair, but they have no curtain poles (we have supplied curtains). They have no bedroom furniture apart from beds. Mum's English is poor and she is depressed and unable to find work. Your help would be appreciated so much.
K is an amazing woman who has been through rehabilitation and is in recovery. She has found faith, become a Christian and reconnected with her young daughter. K has done a council house swap to be near her daughter and daughter's carer, but her new house is in an appalling state. She needs specialist cleaning materials and paint to make it habitable, and also needs floor covering. K simply cannot afford these. Help with the cost would mean that she could make her house fit to live in.
