£0 remaining for a washing machine
This request is to buy a washing machine to replace one that has broken. This applicant has recently had to take in her three younger siblings as their mum has just had a severe stroke and is still recovering in hospital. Recovery will be a long, slow process. The applicant has children of her own and is on benefits so finances are already stretched.
J is now living in his own home, after release from prison, which is in supported housing. He has managed to furnish much of it through gifts and grants from various charities, however, he still has no bed or television. We would like to gift him these with £120 for a bed frame and mattress, and £40 for a television.
Safe Families are working with this mum who had a baby boy in October. She has asked for support to buy a single mattress, as her current mattress has springs popping out, causing discomfort and lack of sleep. Mum doesn’t have the funds to afford bigger items like this. Her and her mam can contribute some money towards it, so we would like to support her with a £100 Argos voucher and empower her to pay the rest. Together we have found a mattress that costs £179. We hope this will make a big difference to mum's sleep.
Safe Families are working with this mum and her son. During a visit, mum showed us her room, where she is currently sleeping on an air mattress with a blanket. We would like to provide her with a voucher to empower her to chose a new bed for herself. This isn't something mum would be able to afford on her own, without your kind donations. We hope this will make a big difference to mum's sleep and stop her getting back pains.
