£0 remaining for a bus pass
This young single mum from Nigeria currently has no income, due to her immigration status, and relies on food banks to get by. This lady would love to volunteer for a clothes bank in the city, but she has no means of transport. We would love to provide her with a three month bus pass to enable her to make vital connections and feel welcome and valued in Scotland.
A mid forties working adult had a stroke resulting in him being hospitalised for five months, suddenly becoming a full-time wheelchair user and being unable to continue working, so is now unemployed. This dad is also a carer for his young autistic son. His wife, the mother of their son, had to give up her job as a fully trained nurse, due to a cancer diagnosis. A stair lift is essential to access the upstairs bathroom (instead of being humiliated with using a commode), and ease the pressure on his wife who is now his carer.
Mum is not able to work due to health issues. Recently, her adult son moved out and took lots of furniture with him. The youngest child has now moved into his room, but has no furniture. Mum is buying some items for the room, such as a bed, and would appreciate this contribution for a wardrobe, chest of drawers and a bedside table. The young boy is adapting to a lot of changes and is so grateful to have a space that is his own. Mum feels this will help him be more prepared for the big step to High School next year.
This young mum has a fourteen month old daughter and would like to get her room set up to be a safer place for her to play, now she is mobile. Due to a lack of storage, this baby is currently drawing on the floor as a form of stimulation, because her toys are getting broken or lost in the small space. This donation will be used to buy some shelving/boxes and wallpaper in order to help mum create a space she can be proud of and in which her fourteen month daughter can thrive and safely play.
