£0 remaining for a microwave, a clothes airer and two lamps
J has spent several months in an NHS residential mental health facility. As well as suffering with poor mental health, she has struggled with debt, which we have been helping her sort out through our debt support service. J has moved into a flat, but does not have the money she needs for some items that would be really helpful. A microwave will help her to prepare food affordably. She also needs an airer for drying her clothes and two lamps so that she does not always have to have the main lights on.
A is a single parent to two teenagers, having been abandoned by their mother. He is unable to work, due to mobility issues, and is dependent on basic benefits and has no savings so is struggling with bills etc. A is currently awaiting the outcome of a Personal Independence Payment application. He has no washing machine and is finding it difficult to attend a launderette, due to his disability, and his family generates a lot of washing! A would be grateful for help to purchase a new washing machine.
Our client has recently left the family home after a breakdown of a twenty six year marriage. They have found a place to live and have received a few items to make the place more homely, but are currently using boxes and bags for their clothing, towels and bedding. They have a dustpan and brush to keep the place as clean as possible. We are asking for support to purchase a wardrobe and hoover, with a possibility to purchase a chest of drawers too.
Mum and dad have three children under three. Dad works long hours as a taxi driver and mum cares for the children in their small council property. Mum gets overwhelmed trying to go out with the children. They would love to play outside, but the garden has a missing fence panel, making it unsecure. The garden is near local shops where locals throw rubbish in it and have been known to go in it. Some fencing to secure the garden and provide privacy would allow the children to play outside together.
