£200 remaining for solicitors fees
H is an asylum seeker from Iraq who would appreciate our help to pay some legal fees. The solicitors specialise in immigration law and are helping him with his asylum claim. Due to his situation of being an asylum seeker, finances are very tight and he has got into difficulty paying these legal fees. It would be a big weight off H's mind to have help with this.
M fled war-related violence in her home country and has just been granted refugee status in the UK. She is a lone parent with a six year old son who has attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). M, who is a faithful member of our church, has been offered a flat, but it is completely empty, not even having carpets. She desperately needs beds and basic furniture.
S and his wife, A, who have a nine year old daughter, were traumatized by fleeing violence in Iran and arrived here in a small boat. S is awaiting a knee operation and recovering from cancer, and A has lost her mother. They are committed and much loved members of our church, who have just been moved to a totally bare council flat. We have already sourced beds, a fridge and a cooker, and we are looking for carpets to cover the bare floors, but they still need a washer-dryer. Please could you help?
Y, who came to the UK from Eritrea one year ago to seek asylum, still has not received a decision on her asylum claim, which means that she remains unable to work in the UK. Y's current phone is broken, making life in the UK extremely difficult because a phone is needed to do almost everything! Money is very tight, as she only receives £8.86 per week from the National Asylum Support Service (NASS). Y would be so grateful for donations to enable her to buy a basic smartphone, enabling her to participate in life in the UK again.
