£140 remaining for food and energy costs
A, his wife and their two young children are struggling with the rise of the cost of living and finding it increasingly difficult to feed themselves and heat their home, especially as the weather starts to get colder. They have amassed some debt, which they have sought help with from their local Citizens Advice. Whilst they receive help with their debt and hopefully get back on track, could you please consider helping this family with some funds towards food and energy? Thank you.
A is a single parent to two teenagers, having been abandoned by their mother. He is unable to work, due to mobility issues, and is dependent on basic benefits and has no savings so is struggling with bills etc. A is currently awaiting the outcome of a Personal Independence Payment application. He has no washing machine and is finding it difficult to attend a launderette, due to his disability, and his family generates a lot of washing! A would be grateful for help to purchase a new washing machine.
C is the legal guardian of her three grandchildren, aged eleven, nine and two, who have been abandoned by their parents. She is unable to work and her husband is on a low income, hence they have no savings. The two older children need new school uniforms, particularly A, who needs compulsory expensive bespoke items for the secondary school. In addition, he has Duane syndrome so he is registered blind, as well as having other abnormalities, e.g. shortened limbs and missing fingers, hence his uniform needs to be professionally altered.
H, a single mum of a twelve year old and a sixteen year old, has recently relocated into the area, escaping a domestic violence relationship. She has managed to secure herself a new home, and through the support of local charities and community projects, has managed to settle in well. Now mum's car has failed its MOT and she needs help to pay for the work to be completed. This will enable H to transport her children, providing greater freedom, and aid her in finding gainful employment.
