£100 remaining for a smart phone
M, who came out of prison six weeks ago and has found a job, is living in supported housing and is managing to begin a new life for herself. She needs a smart phone to access rotas and other things online for her job, but doesn't have any money saved and would struggle on minimum wage to buy one within the first two months. This would be a big help at the start of M's job.
We are supporting this family consisting of mum, a teenage son and two young children. The teenage son has had issues with school and has been persistently absent, causing mum to pay absence fines. As a result, she is not able to pay for basic repairs to the family home, following a significant leak, due to not working because of an ongoing back issue. Professionals are concerned about home conditions and feel that new flooring is needed to provide a safe place for the children to play.
R, who was recently employed as an electrician, is finding his feet again after a significant amount of time unemployed. However, his work kit was recently stolen and he needs to replace his PPE. This has been a big blow for R, as he has worked hard to get this job and has been really enjoying this new opportunity, but with no savings, he can't afford the big expense of getting the PPE, having only just got back into work. Please can you help R continue doing this brilliant job?
M is Ukrainian and moved to England via 'Homes for Ukraine.' He was accepted for an ice hockey scholarship in America, but unfortunately, was refused the 'right to remain' and returned to the UK after nine months. M's original host family was not able to re-house him so he moved in with some friends, but this was not suitable as their home was overcrowded. M was referred to our supported accommodation in April 2024 and has progressed well to the point he is at now, moving to his own flat. This support would help M to obtain a cooker which would enable him to cook healthy meals.
