£0 remaining for an under-counter fridge and a chest of drawers or wardrobe
This applicant, who split with his partner during Covid, ended up homeless and was put in a hostel, but has now been given a very small flat. He is currently searching for a job and using food banks. This applicant only has a bed, a freezer and a chair, but needs an undercounter fridge to help him with having fresh foods. He would also be very grateful for a wardrobe or chest of drawers. We will be sourcing these items second-hand and any remaining funds will be used for other essential items for him.
O has lived in her home for the last two years with her little girl. The property has no carpets in the bedrooms or hall, stairs and landing. This is unsafe for her small child, as well as making the house feel really damp. O, who isn't working, has no savings or family to support her and simply can't afford the high cost of carpeting her home. Carpets would mean the world to O and her daughter. Can someone please help?
E suffers with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and anxiety and is unable to work. She is in receipt of Universal Credit and is in the process of claiming Personal Independence Payments. She has outstanding rent arrears and is struggling financially. Her existing fridge freezer is not working and is not freezing. She would be able to shop and cook more economically with a working fridge freezer. Please can you help her with this request - she says it would make a massive difference. Thank you.
R lives alone and has not been able to work for over a year due to mental health problems. She suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder and has frequent panic attacks. She receives Universal Credit and Personal Independence Payments and just about manages to cover her general spending, but has little left over for anything else. Her washing machine has broken down and there is no way she can afford to replace it herself. She would really appreciate your help.
