£140 remaining for a voucher for food, clothing and shoes
This woman I support is fleeing a domestic abuse situation and is in need of support whilst she awaits a decision on her asylum claim. She currently has no recourse to public funds and only receives a very small weekly allowance from a charity. This woman requires a shopping voucher to buy food, winter clothing and shoes suitable for the cold weather in the UK, which she will not otherwise be able to obtain.
MK, an entrenched rough sleeper, has been homeless for around two decades and is living in hostel accommodation. He would appreciate a voucher for some shoes and winter clothes, a top-up voucher for his phone, a haircut (as his beard has grown long since he has been homeless) and a beard trimmer to maintain his beard after the haircut.
This expectant mother, who is due to have her first baby in February, is currently seeking Asylum in the UK and, due to very difficult circumstances, is living in a hostel with very limited funds. Mum-to-be has requested a Primark voucher as she has very few clothes for herself and, due to being pregnant, she is needing maternity sized clothes. She is also concerned that she won't have any clothes for her baby when he arrives.
N came to the UK on a work visa with her husband and three children, the youngest of whom has cerebral palsy. Sadly, her husband became seriously ill after they arrived and N had to reduce her working hours to look after the family. They have no recourse to public funds and mum is struggling to manage on her reduced income. They are living in one room, sharing facilities with other tenants. It would greatly lift the family's spirits to receive some help towards a winter coat and shoes for mum and school uniform for her son.
