£0 remaining for bankruptcy fees
My client is a single lady, with depression, chronic pain issues, and concentration difficulties. She has become unable to work due to her declining health and now has to live on a low, means-tested income. She has accumulated increasing amounts debt through her change in circumstances, and now is in need of a bankruptcy. She would massively benefit from a fresh start financially and to be free from the enormous burden of debt, but is struggling to afford the £690 fees.
One of our colleagues, who works tirelessly to help people with debt issues, has found herself in a difficult situation. Her husband has lost his job, due to ill health, and is waiting to have a knee replacement as the pain he is in is unbearable. We have supported him with claiming disability benefit, but this could take months. A has been trying to make her wages stretch, but once all the bills have been paid there is no money for essentials. Please can you help with a food voucher and fuel?
C, who has three adult children, has been plunged into debt through ill health, mixed with varying work patterns, which has meant she has had several overpayments of benefits. She has had to repay this on only the most basic income. During this time, C's garden has become a dumping ground for old electrical items and other rubbish. It would remove a little bit of misery if her garden was cleared, whilst Christians Against Poverty helps her deal with the bigger financial pressures.
This single mum, who is struggling to make ends meet on a very low income, and in debt, is in need of a living room carpet. The previous carpet in the property had been cleaned many times, but was too dangerous to leave down, as it had holes and became a trip hazard for the family. We have rugs down currently, as the floor is concrete and cold, and mum just cannot find any way of buying a living room carpet
