£0 remaining for moving costs
A's family has just been granted Refugee Status, which should bring them a degree of relief and happiness. However, those granted Refugee Status are evicted from asylum accommodation and expected to fend for themselves and find alternative accommodation with as little as one week's notice. This is what happened yesterday to A's family. We helped the family to find temporary accommodation, and are asking for support to pay towards moving costs to rent a van to move their belongings. Thank you.
Z, who has arrived in the UK from Iran, would like to have a sewing machine. She is unable to afford most clothing items and would like to make them herself, as well as mend her children outfits. She is also wanting to spend her time in sewing, as it keeps her occupied and help her to feel better in herself, rather than feeling bored and depressed. Z is on Universal Credit so couldn't afford one otherwise.
A is an asylum seeker from Pakistan who felt that she had to leave her home country as she was receiving death threats from family members. This is because she did not want to be forced into marriage, but wanted to have a career of her own. A does not have any clothes or shoes suitable for a British winter, and we would like to buy her a coat, a pair of shoes, a pair of jeans, some leggings and some underwear.
A, who would like to buy a laptop, is unable to afford one due to not being employed and on Universal Credit. She has put a bit of money aside towards one and this donation would go towards paying for the rest. It would help A with studying and to do her English for speakers of other languages (ESOL) course.
