£0 remaining for a washing machine
L receives Employment and Support Allowance and Personal Independence Payment due to ongoing health conditions. Last week her washing machine broke and she has no savings to replace it with. Obviously this is causing L much inconvenience and upset, and it would be great to replace her washer before the busy Christmas period.
M, who is a single mum with a young son who is under the age of one, desperately needs a washing machine to help with her living situation, as she has not had one for over twelve months. M receives Universal Credit and Child Benefit, and is not in a position to afford a washing machine herself. She would benefit greatly if we can make this purchase happen and finds it amazing that people would be so kind. Thank you for any help you can give.
S is struggling with her health and finds it very difficult to get out, although she tries to be as independent as possible. Her cooker has broken and she doesn't have any other source of cooking. S is seventy years of age and has never used a microwave so is really struggling with getting food, and has been just eating toast and cold food. She only has her state pension and just doesn't have any funds. Please could we help S get hot food for the winter?
T lives with her son and they are both in poor health. She suffers with respiratory problems and often needs hospital treatment, and her son has paranoid schizophrenia for which he takes daily medication. Their flat is sparsely furnished and they just have one, very battered, easy chair and some small garden chairs to sit on. We would like to provide them with a sofa so that they have somewhere more comfortable to sit, and they would also appreciate a vacuum cleaner to help keep the dust at bay.
