£0 remaining for a cooker
My client is a pensioner who lives alone and is unable to cook a warm meal due to not having a cooker. Struggling financially, she is unable to afford such a large purchase and has come to the charity to ask for help. All support will be greatly appreciated by my client, who is having family to visit over the Christmas period and would like to be able to cook for them whilst on their visit. She is feeling stressed at the thought of not being able to do this for them.
This lady, who is a single mum to three children, one of whom has additional needs and is supported by The Junction, also cares for her dad who has cancer. She suffered a stroke at a young age, leaving her with weakness down one side of her body. This lady is on benefits, but cannot afford a cooker, which impacts on what food she can give her children. Mum often goes without food to her feed the children. Despite this, she volunteers through an agency working in the community, supporting the elderly by cooking and cleaning for them.
This young person, who had a very turbulent relationship with his mother and was homeless, has no support, but was able to secure a property through a charity. Sadly, he has no furniture or the basic items. This young person is experiencing poor mental health and suffers from anxiety related episodes. He needs a vacuum, a sofa, coffee table for the lounge and some cleaning equipment to live comfortably. This young person has very little and these items would make a huge difference to his life. Thank you.
This lovely lady, who is a single parent with four boys, has just experienced the tragic death of her seven week old baby. This has been a very distressing time and her sleep pattern is massively disrupted. The situation is made so much worse because mum has no bed frame and is sleeping on a mattress on the floor. She also needs a chest of drawers to help organise the children’s clothes. We are reaching out for your help to bless this family at Christmas.
