£0 remaining for a family shop
This client of Sue Lambert Trust is struggling to make ends meet as a consequence of being subject to the benefit cap, and due to the expenses of Christmas. She is a single parent and self-employed artist with two children. Some help towards purchasing ALDI vouchers for a family shop whilst we look into her benefits situation, would be very much appreciated.
This lady and her 1 year old child were relocated to Southend due to domestic violence and are in temporary accommodation without cooking facilities. Relying solely on Universal Credit, she cannot afford takeaway meals. We would like to provide balanced, nutritious meals for the next 6 weeks to ease her burden and ensure she and her daughter have proper meals for lunch and dinner, offering much needed support during this challenging time.
L is a 58 year old lady who lives on her own. She has a number of health problems, but her mental health is so poor that it restricts her life and she is very isolated. She has recently been diagnosed with diabetes and has a lot of back problems, so sitting in a very cold flat is not helpful to her wellbeing. With a low income she is terrified of putting the heating on. We are looking at what other grants are available to her but are concerned that she is going through the winter with no heat.
Our client has experienced a bout of bad health and has been through a very challenging time with their family. They are an elderly person who is very much part of their small village community and have unfortunately got into arrears with household bills, which they have never experienced before. They had no money to purchase heating oil for their home, and we had exhausted all options, so promised to look at raising some funds for them.
