£0 remaining for a fridge freezer
Our client came from Turkey to the UK to be with her husband who subsequently subjected her to domestic abuse. She has no family here to support her so she fled to a refuge. She has now been offered an independent tenancy giving her the chance of a fresh start. The property is unfurnished and she cannot meet the cost of all the items needed. She is in receipt of Universal Credit which barely covers her essential living costs. Could you please help towards the cost of a fridge freezer?
E and her partner have been without a cooker for over eighteen months since it suddenly stopped working. They are unable to replace it because they are on benefits and have a low income. In fact, E and her partner have had to recently access a food bank for a food parcel to help their situation. They have been using a microwave since their cooker broke, which often means they are buying more expensive and less healthy food. Help from Acts would make an enormous difference to their wellbeing.
S is a refugee from Iran who has recently received a positive decision and is now looking to start work as an interpreter. In order for her to start working and building her life in the UK, she needs to pay for two DBS checks, which is outside of her current budget. S would be very grateful for your support.
J, who has a diagnosis of EUPD (emotionally unstable personality disorder), has had recent in-patient admissions to hospital and crisis team support. She also has IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) which has caused isolation and difficulty leaving the home. Her benefit income is Universal Credit and Personal Independence Payment. J lives alone and has no family to support her. EMDR (eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing) therapy that has been recommended for childhood trauma, will not be funded by the NHS. J has trialled some sessions and found this very beneficial, but cannot afford to continue the sessions. This amount will provide three sessions.
