£0 remaining for carpet fitting
K is a single mum of one child whose only income is Universal Credit and she is struggling to manage on a daily basis. She has lived in her flat for over eighteen months and it's not carpeted. The floors are concrete, so it's cold and feels damp. Her little girl is getting older now and likes to run around but K is worried she will hurt herself. We have an offer of free carpets, but need help with the fitting costs. K would be so so grateful for any support.
K would appreciate help towards the cost of a new freezer, following her current one breaking down, so she can store food for her family of five. K has a disability that affects her mobility, making standing for too long difficult, so storing food in the freezer is more accessible then cooking from fresh every day. K relies on benefits which makes it very hard to save for large appliances and she needs some support to acquire such items.
J had a stroke, seizure and a bleed on the brain which meant she had to leave her job as she is now unable to work. J has had to move to a bungalow as she can't manage the stairs. The new house is not carpeted and she is not in a position to afford carpets with everything that has happened to her, plus her low income with no savings. We can help J carpet the house for free, but we need a little help with the cost of fitting and are hoping that some kind donors will come to our rescue!!
A was homeless, but has recently secured a property that she is being supported to maintain and learn the fundamentals of running a home. The flat doesn't have a freezer and A cannot afford to buy one herself due to her low income. Your help to buy a freezer will mean that she can shop and budget more efficiently and healthily, helping her limited income to go further and ensuring she has a better diet.
