£0 remaining for a bedroom carpet
S and her two young children live in a house with no carpets, which means that it doesn't feel very homely. Having no carpets often prevents them inviting people over and leaves them isolated. One of the children has additional needs and it is really a challenging time for them. They don't have spare funds to cover the cost of getting carpets, as they are reliant on benefits as, due to mental health issues, S isn't able to work. It would make a massive difference to them to have carpets.
This gentleman was referred to the St Vincent de Paul centre as he has just moved into a one bedroom flat. He has a brain injury and needs assistance with furnishing his apartment to make it a bit more homely. Our centre is asking for your kindness to buy a bed and mattress for this gentleman to help him as he starts a new life, and give him a bit of comfort as he battles his ailment.
This senior aged lady has been recommended for support by another organisation. The primary concern is that her pension payments have ceased, due to a banking system transition that resulted in the discontinuation of services at her previous bank. We are currently collaborating with sister agencies in this matter, but in the meantime, we are graciously asking for your kindness to purchase a phone, phone credit and a four weekly food parcel whilst we try to sort out this lady's financial challenges.
This gentleman has been requested to temporarily vacate his supported housing, due to failing an alcohol test. The current regulations state that he must leave the shared accommodation to prevent potential issues, and he acknowledges the risks associated with a relapse. We are asking for your help to temporarily house this gentleman for four nights in bed and breakfast. The supported Housing Association has indicated that they will conduct a re-test, and if he tests negative, this gentleman will be welcomed back into the house.
