£0 remaining for a chest of drawers
Safe Families are supporting a single mum, with a young boy, who have just moved areas, due to being targeted within their previous community. Mum is unable to work, due to the demands of caring for her son, and is struggling financially. The family have limited furniture and places to store their clothes. Providing the family with these drawers would allow them to help make their house a home. Mum is unable to afford to provide these herself due to not working.
A was diagnosed with depression, social anxiety and post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). We worked with him and helped him believe a different story about the truth of his identity. He is now unrecognisable from the man we first met. A is a carer for a former cellmate with physical handicaps. Spiralling fuel and living costs has led him into debt and we have been able to help him obtain a Debt Relief Order. However, his fridge and cooker have stopped working. We are applying for £150 for a second-hand cooker.
Our applicant is an asylum seeking lady from El Salvador who has been granted permission to remain in the UK with her four year old daughter. They have been moved out of Home Office accommodation and into a Local Authority house which is completely unfurnished. Mum has reached out to us requesting a microwave, kettle and toaster, pans, crockery, cutlery and utensils. Your kindness will be greatly appreciated to help this mum and her young daughter.
Our applicant is an asylum seeking lady from Nigeria who is here with her four boys, aged eleven, nine, five, and a seven month old baby. Three of the boys receive free school meals. The family is part of our Family Hub and joins us during school holidays for activities and a hot meal. Mum struggles financially and has approached us during the latest school holidays to request help for clothes for the boys. Mum is extremely grateful for any help we have provided for her and we would like to support this family further
