£0 remaining for an electric cooker
I had the pleasure of speaking to M today. Although he speaks little English, he has chatted about his situation through an interpreter at the Foodbank. M has mobility difficulties and is on multiple medical treatments. He has been offered an unfurnished, one bed flat by a Housing Association. As he explained, he has nothing to bring with him into this flat. He has space for a cooker and will be so grateful if you can help him with this item.
IK is an asylum seeker living in a hotel with her husband and three children, aged four, two and ten months old. The benefit they receive is £8.00 weekly each, which is greatly inadequate for their needs. One child suffers from eczema and another is grossly underweight and has mental health problems. IK needs your help to buy food, clothes and basic essentials. Please can you help her change her life? Thank you.
H is a young man who suffers from post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). He came to us with debts of around £5K which occurred when he was being moved from one property to another. He is now debt free, thanks to a Debt Relief Order. H has been working with his work coach towards returning to employment. He was given some money for driving lessons to enable him to look for work in a wider area, but needs a few more lessons before he re-takes his test. £150 would purchase five lessons for him so he has the best chance of passing his next test.
This woman that I am supporting is, unfortunately, in some arrears with her bills. She comes from a background of domestic abuse and a large part of that was financial abuse. This woman has been working to be independent, look after her three children alone and manage the finances but, unfortunately, she is still working her way through an amount of arrears. We would be most grateful for some support. I know it would make her life just that bit easier.
