£0 remaining for food, launderette and baby care items
This young, single mother, with no family support, has been moved into temporary accommodation with her infant son, whilst fleeing domestic abuse. They are in urgent need of some help with essentials, especially food, since they have very little income and there are no cooking or laundry facilities where they are. Mum is struggling to manage work and childcare, so any support offered would be used to do washing at the local Launderette, buy fresh foods, baby care items and nappies.
J has recently moved to our community after suffering homelessness in the Walsall area. He receives Universal Credit and is living in shared accommodation with a few of our other community members. J has become a regular visitor to our hub and his experience in kayaking, canoeing and being a lifeguard will be a huge asset for our community canoe trips starting at the end of the month. J would love to purchase a mini fridge, toaster, air fryer and a small television for his new accommodation.
L, a mum with two boys, is terminally ill with breast cancer and four other secondary cancers, one of which is a brain tumour that makes her photosensitive. She is fatigued, following a mastectomy, chemotherapy and other interventions in her care plan. L cannot sleep well because her bedroom window has no curtains or blinds. This request is for curtain poles, curtains and blinds and their fitting so that L can get some quality sleep and respite.
T, a single man who is suffering from mental health issues, is unable to work, receives Universal Credit and has no savings. One of the batteries on his narrowboat needs replacing and he cannot afford to buy a new one, which he would also need to have fitted. T moves from place to place and can only stay in one spot for a limited amount of time so he needs to get this battery replaced to be able to move on.
