£0 remaining for a fridge and a cooker
E is a single mum who, after many years living in very overcrowded conditions with her young son, has been offered a one bedroom flat. She is looking for donations of second hand furniture, but urgently needs a fridge and a cooker in order to move in. She is dependent on Universal Credit and is struggling to cover the costs of making the flat habitable. Her son is now four and a half years old and he has never had his own space in which to grow and develop. The pressure on both of them has taken its toll. Please can you help them?
Mum works in a pharmacy and dad is no longer able to run his business, due to mental health and physical disabilities. The family lives in North London and is in a massive amount of debt, due to the business failing. They are struggling to afford bills and food, and are working with Christians Against Poverty towards being debt free. They do not have a washing machine so are having to hand wash all their clothes. Donation for a washing machine would be very much appreciated.
B has been rehoused with her two children, having fled domestic violence, and is struggling to cope. Her flat is unfurnished and she needs a fridge so that she can shop and cook fresh food for the family. B would very much appreciate your help.
This single mother has three children, aged fourteen, nine and two years of age. Two of the children have illnesses which means they have to attend weekly hospital appointments, and they are registered disabled. They have high travel costs to hospital and a special needs school. Mother is on Universal Credit (UC) and unable to work. The UC doesn't leave her enough money to cover fuel or food costs. They have no washing machine and mother washes clothes by hand as she cannot afford the launderette costs.
