£0 remaining for living expenses for a young mother
Our client was referred to us by a local school who had became concerned for the welfare of a family they were supporting. The young, single mother of two is currently struggling to pay for bills, debt and food and has no support from anywhere else. She is in desperate need of help to cover immediate costs, which will relieve some pressure and give her some time until further support comes from the government in the form of cost of living payments.
PC who has been estranged from his family, would like to attend his sister's funeral in Surrey. He is in need of funds to purchase a suit and a return rail fare, PC has no other means of supporting this journey as he only receives basic Universal Credit. Please can you help?
DB is a young single mum who works part-time whilst claiming benefits. Due to the thresholds of Universal Credit, her wages often mean she is classed as earning above their threshold and she then receives no benefits. This has put incredible pressure on DB, as she has to pay additional nursery fees to attend work, and also travel to and from work and nursery. She currently owes the nursery £200 in fees and has no means of clearing this debt without accruing debt somewhere else.
My client had a catastrophic motorbike crash in March last year and suffered a broken pelvis and spinal fractures. He is now disabled, with severe mobility issues, and is unable to work. He has gone from working full-time to living on a low, means tested income, and is struggling to make ends meet. My client doesn't have a working pair of glasses and can't afford the cost of a new pair. He would massively benefit from money to buy a new pair of glasses so that he can manage daily essential tasks.
