£0 remaining for lino and fitting
This lady lives alone, with her little dog for company, has no network support and very little money. She has nerve damage to her spine, which has seriously reduced her mobility. She is unable to accept help, as she feels she does not deserve it, and so is very isolated. Her bathroom lino is torn and dangerous, and she has tripped up over it. Please will you help this deserving lady to know that people care?
R is a single mum with three young children who has escaped domestic violence from the father of her children. The family has had to start afresh in a new town and new home, with no finances or possessions to furnish it. R is currently not working, due to the impact of the domestic violence on her mental health, so is dependent on basic benefits with no savings. Riviera Life church has provided beds and bedding for the family, but they desperately need a cooker and would be grateful for any help towards it.
Our resident, who is in his twenties and is in receipt of benefits, has been in our supported accommodation for over sixteen months. We have now found suitable accommodation for him, with the local authority, and he is starting the process of moving. The accommodation lacks carpets, which we have been able to source some funding for, however, he needs to pay for a local carpet fitter to fit the carpets throughout the flat. This will help to make it feel like a home and also keep the flat warm.
Our client, who has been homeless for 190 days, has no phone so nobody can get hold of him. If we could get him an economical phone, that would be great. He is also just in the clothes he is wearing and carrying around some coats, jumpers etc., so some clothes would assist. Our client has a history of mental illness and tried to live closer to family for support, but this was from years ago so wasn't accepted. He has tried emergency accommodation, but he doesn't want to go back there, due to his mental health. Please can we help him with clothes and a mobile phone?
