February Prayer Bulletin 2022

Take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Ephesians 6:16

January has absolutely flown past, and I cannot believe we're now in February. At Acts 435 we have had an exciting but also difficult month. Two weeks ago we were featured on the local news here in Yorkshire, Look North. It was a feature about one of our recipients, and her struggle with the increases in living costs - you can read more about her story here. Jenny, our Executive Director, was also interviewed on BBC York and BBC Northampton, both of which were brilliant opportunities to spread the word about what we do. Alongside all this excitement, some of our team have suffered from ill health and we have all been affected by the ongoing effects of the pandemic with family members self isolating and schools closing. We would really appreciate your prayers for our team, as we hope to meet in person more regularly and to be able to attend events to promote our work.

This month we're very thankful to God for:

  • The feature about our work, and that of our partners in Halifax, on the local Yorkshire news. We had many people look to our website and around 70 individuals donate after the evening news, as well as many specifically wanting to contribute to the brave lady who was helped through our work and shared her story. Please do pray that this news article stirs more churches and individual donors to respond.
  • The interview with BBC Northampton. We don't currently have many partner churches/charities in that area so please pray that people will respond positively.
  • The 481 individuals and families who have been helped by Acts 435 Advocates and donors with £59,630 distributed in January to those who need it most.

Please also pray for:

  • Our regional events that we will be running throughout the year. The first two are coming up in London (24th) and Edinburgh (26th). We are hoping to gather a group of Advocates in those areas as well as attending external conferences to let churches know about our work. Please pray for good connections and that our Advocates find it helpful to meet together.
  • Continued wisdom and clarity over the continuation of our Larger Gifts Fund. This fund has continued to run due to grant funding, and some larger gifts from donors. However, it is temporarily closed due to the funds depleting. It has been a valuable resource to our advocates and recipients, as the need for larger gifts has been great during the pandemic. We would like God's guidance to know if continuing the fund in it's current format is the right direction, or whether there is another way that we could be helping to meet the larger needs of recipients.
