£0 remaining for bunk beds
This client came to us for support after she had recently moved into her new property after living in a hostel with her four children for the past two years. Mum now has her own accommodation, however, she cannot afford to purchase beds, due to low income and high outgoings. Mum has been helped by the local council with other furnishings, however, she is in desperate need of beds to ensure her children have a comfortable place to sleep. This support would give her the fresh start she is desperate for.
S has no cooker, and is struggling financially because Universal Credit and PIP (Personal Independence Payments) have stopped her money. She is diabetic, and needs a cooker to enable her to cook fresh, healthy meals for her diet- ready meals put her at risk of going into hospital. She comes to our café at church on a Thursday, where she can get a fresh meal for a reasonable price. She moved to Rochdale recently because she had to leave her last home because there was a drug problem. She left her belongings when she moved into a flat and is sleeping on the floor at the moment.
A is currently living in temporary accommodation with her three young children. The house is covered in mould but A has little choice other than to stay there as she has nowhere else to go; she is constantly chasing the landlord to help with the mould problem. This property was unfurnished when she moved in and the fridge freezer which she had donated to her has stopped working and she has nowhere to store chilled and frozen food. A cannot afford to replace this out of her benefits.
Mum is a single parent caring for her two children. Their family home is very overcrowded and there are concerns around the home conditions. We would like to provide her daughter with a chest of drawers which are needed to store her clothes as they are currently on her bedroom floor. The drawers would mean the clothes can be put away, kept clean, and will give her some much needed space in her room. Mum is struggling financially, but has worked hard to address the home conditions. Thank you for your support.
