"Restoring faith in human nature... "

A story of hope from our partnership with Christians Against Poverty...

Christians Against Poverty (CAP) are one of our longest standing partners. We partner with over 70 CAP Debt Centres across the United Kingdom and we are always so encouraged by the stories of hope shared by our advocates working with CAP. We are also constantly receiving messages of thanks from CAP clients who have been supported by Acts 435 donors.

One of the most common ways requests support CAP clients are through Debt Relief Orders (DRO). In the past, we have shared details on how DROs support those living with debt. For those living on the least, the £90 needed to secure a life changing DRO is sometimes far too much to save for. This message of thanks from a CAP client, K, who was able to apply for a DRO thanks to Acts 435 donations is a beautiful example of the power of partnership.

Read K's thank you message here:

"Dear Acts 435,

I'm extremely grateful for all the help and support I've had from yourselves at Acts 435.

Nowadays it feels like no-one cares about you when you have to rely on benefits to live. It's not a lifestyle choice to be poor and in debt! I am a proud man and haven't wanted to ask for help, but everyone I have spoken to at CAP has been really friendly, helpful and kind. I've never felt judged or humiliated.

Thanks to everyone Acts 435 and the people that donated my fee, so that CAP to help me get the DRO set up as well. This has restored my faith in human nature a bit. It has often felt like no one cares, but I now know that is not the case.

It is still going to be hard to keep my head above water, but I have been given the chance of a fresh start as well as the continuing support from CAP in the future. It is a relief to know someone out there wants to help people who are struggling.

Thanks once again.

K"

Join us in praying for the continued success of CAP. For wisdom as they continue to support those breaking free from the chains of poverty, declaring "there is always hope."
