December Prayer Bulletin

A voice of one calling: "In the wilderness prepare the way for the Lord; make straight in the desert a highway for our God".

Isaiah 40:3

I can't believe that we have reached December already, and that our Christmas Appeal is well under way. We that pray you have had a good start to the season, and have enjoyed pausing to reflect on the coming of Jesus during Advent.

We would ask that you join us in praying for our Christmas Appeal, where we're asking donors to bring comfort and joy to those who are struggling this Christmas time. Please do pray that we are able to support as many families as possible during December, and can see all the requests on our website met in time for Christmas.

Please also pray for the individuals and families who are seeking this help during December.

This year the Joseph Rowntree Foundation reported that around 2 in every 10 adults are in poverty in the UK, with about 3 in every 10 children being in poverty. Those who are experiencing poverty struggle every day to be able to buy food and heat their homes, and Christmas can make their situation feel more difficult.

It is more important than ever that we support individuals through, prayer and giving, as we look at the statistics that suggest many will go without the basics of living, let alone presents for children or a warm meal this Christmas time.

Firstly this month we are very thankful to God for:

A wonderful start to our Christmas Appeal, as we look to meet as many of the needs on our website as possible during the festive season.

Our donors, who generously continue to support the requests on our website, or who give general donations that we are then able apply towards the requests that are most urgent or that have been waiting the longest.

Our presence at the Redeeming our Communities conference at the end of November. It was wonderful to be able to share and collaborate with many different projects and churches. Please pray for fruit from this, and that more of them will partner with us directly.

The 544 individuals and families who have been helped in November by Acts 435 Advocates and Donors, with £96,925 distributed to those who need it most.

Please join us in praying for:

Our Christmas Campaign, which will run throughout December. Please pray that we can meet as many needs as possible and, that as in previous years, we can meet them all by Christmas Day.

Our staff team as they take a break over the festive season. Please pray for a refreshing time with family and friends.

Our partner churches that will be running events throughout Christmas. Please pray for many opportunities to share the Good News of Jesus with individuals.

As always, thank you for your prayers for these individuals, our Advocates and for Acts 435 as we seek to do more for those in need in the UK.

Have a joyful Christmas and a blessed New Year.
