July Prayer Bulletin

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.

Joshua 1:9

I hope you have been enjoying, or tolerating, the hot weather over the last few weeks. I enjoy the sun, and being warm, so it's perfect weather for me. It's also a reminder that it's not long until the summer holidays, and Scotland's holidays have already begun!

There is often a mixed reaction to the summer holidays for parents. While many will be looking forward to family time, day trips and holidays, many will be anxious about the costs of activities and trips, and even feeding their children on days when they would normally receive a free school meal.

Please pray for families this summer

This month, please lift up families, especially those who will struggle with the everyday costs of the extra food and meals for children during the holidays. Please pray that many families can find the support they need, as well be able to engage with free events and activities that will provide joy during the holidays

I would also like to share this wonderful prayer request, sent in by one of our local Advocates about an individual they are supporting. But, please pray a similar prayer for all those being supported by our work:

"She was amazed that somewhere existed that people see a need and want to fulfil it to help someone! Please pray that she sees the generosity and heart, of people she doesn't know, to help her and it makes her question 'why'. That we're able to have deeper conversations about faith because of it."

Firstly this month we are very thankful to God for:

A very busy June where we got lots of opportunities to visit partners and take part in events. July is a lot quieter, but please pray for continued fruit from conversations that we had in June!

All the opportunities to share Acts 435 at the Christians Against Poverty United conferences. Please pray that many more CAP churches will sign-up to partner with us.

Some new developments to our website, which will enable us to explain our work better, and make a better experience for donors and churches/charities.

Please join us in praying for:

Churches who are running Make Lunch Clubs, or similar provisions, during the summer holidays. Please pray that as these churches provide meals for families, and often other activities, they will be able to have a great impact in their local community.

Conversations with our friends at Warm Welcome who are having similar conversations to us about connecting more with schools to support families. Please pray we could work together to develop this idea, and support more families in need.

Our friends at St Vincent de Paul Society as they have their National Conference this month. Please pray that they have a blessed time together, and that our Advocates will be able to spread more about Acts 435 to other local SVPs.

Our Team Day today (1st July). Please pray that we have a wonderful time together as a team, and enjoy each other's company.

As always, thank you for your prayers for these individuals, our Advocates and for Acts 435 as we seek to do more for those in need in the UK.

Best wishes,
