June Prayer Bulletin
The other day my husband and I were discussing our faulty freezer, which is a minor inconvenience to our lives currently. He then went on to tell me a story of a child in his school (he's a primary school teacher) who was telling him that they don't have a freezer, their oven in broken so they can only cook meals on the hob, and they're having to wash their clothes at a neighbour's house. This is the reality for so many families who would struggle to pay for a repair, or replacement, of one appliance - let alone two or three.
We have recently begun to partner with more schools, and so in situations like the one above, we hope to be able to support more families with these practical items - providing support through local schools who often know the families, and their situations, best. Please join us in praying for conversations with schools and academy trusts, and pray that we can partner with schools to meet more needs.
Please do pray for those who are struggling without appliances
This month, please do lift up those who are in need of an appliance; and who are struggling to cook, chill food, or wash clothes. Please pray for a solution to their need, and they can seek the help they require. Also pray for the mental health of these individuals, especially parents, who find this need a huge struggle in their everyday, and in caring for their children.
Firstly this month we are very thankful to God for:
We are excited that we have lots of events and opportunities coming up in June, so please pray for our team during this busy period, for travel and for good rest.
The Warm Welcome Awards in London on 17th June. These awards celebrate Warm Welcome Spaces, and the positive difference they're making in communities. We have been part of one of the judging panels for two of the awards, and it will be fantastic for Katie to attend the awards and celebrate all our friends at Warm Welcome are doing.
An opportunity to film with Places of Welcome, in Walsall. We partner with two of their spaces there, and we hope that we can put together a video to encourage more Places of Welcome to partner with us.
The 519 individuals and families who have been helped in May by Acts 435 Advocates and Donors, with £87,975 distributed to those who need it most.
Please join us in praying for:
Refugee Week (15-21st June 2026), which is a good point in the year to highlight the support that we give, through our partners, to refugee and asylum seekers. Please do pray for a positive response to our communications during this time, and a good response to the requests for help on our website.
The regional United Conferences for Christians Against Poverty staff and churches, which some of our team and Advocates will be attending throughout June. We currently partner with 27% of CAP Churches (48% of CAP Debt Centres), which means that there are many churches that haven't yet partnered with us. Please pray for positive conversations, and lots of enquiries to partner with us.
Helen, our Operations Manager, as she attends a community event put on by Wetherby Foodbank. The aim is to share resources/signposting, so we pray we can resource more churches/charities in the area.
Conversations with more schools and academy trusts. Please pray that these are fruitful and that we can meet the needs of lots more families through new partnerships made.
As always, thank you for your prayers for these individuals, our Advocates and for Acts 435 as we seek to do more for those in need in the UK.

Best wishes,
Katie
