Hello!

There was a chill to the air this morning, and I wore a nice fluffy jumper on the school run (my son even put a Christmas song on during breakfast!). The idea of warm jumpers and cosy nights conjures happy thoughts for some, but for many this year it will fill them with dread as they consider the increased energy costs and the possibility of living in a cold home.

Please join us in praying for those who will once again be impacted by the unaffordable cost of heating their home. Pray that they will be able to find alternatives to keeping warm, and that they will have the courage to seek help. 

We're thankful to once again be partnering with Warm Welcome Spaces to resource churches and organisations who are opening their doors this winter. Please do pray that this partnership will enable us to help more individuals and families who would otherwise be going without this winter.

We would also ask that you would pray for us as a charity, as we look towards the increased need this winter. We'd appreciate your prayer for new donors to hear about our work, but also that our regular donors would continue to be generous, if they are able. In September we saw a dip in our monthly donations, which has meant that requests for help are taking longer to be met. Please pray that as we anticipate an increase in need that donations are able to continue to fulfil all the requests posted onto our website.

Firstly this month we are very thankful to God for:

An opportunity we have been able to offer as a pilot to some of our Advocates, to help provide carpet for those living in poor housing conditions. Please pray for our local Advocates, and our Staff Team, as they aim to iron-out some of the practical details. 

Conversations about further advertising opportunities, which we hope may spread the word about our work further. 

The 462 individuals and families who have been helped in September by Acts 435 Advocates and donors with £68,935 distributed to those who need it most.

Our upcoming Christmas Appeal, which is normally our busiest time of year. Please pray that new and regular donors will be encouraged to give during this time - through our social media outlets, mailings and our partner churches and charities.

The team as we continue to talk about what opportunities we might look to take in 2024 - as a small staff team we want to make sure these are the right ones! 

Our local partners, and those that they are supporting, as they begin to look towards the autumn/winter months when many will be affected by the increased energy costs once again.
