£200 needed for carpet
C has recently been rehoused due to an abusive husband who raped their daughter. She is now a single parent living with her three children aged 21,17 and 12 years. She is in receipt of Universal Credit and Personal Independence Payment. We know her, as she is a member of the marketplace where we are beginning to build a relationship with her. She needs a carpet to cover the flooring as she has no floor covering.
£200 needed for a freezer
J, 53 years old, is struggling financially and emotionally, living alone on Universal Credit due to severe kidney, hearing and mental health conditions. Council tax debt and enforcement has caused significant anxiety. Her current fridge is old and has no freezer compartment, making it difficult to store affordable food safely. A freezer would make a huge difference to her daily life, helping her manage food costs, support her health, and bring stability and dignity during a difficult time.
£200 needed for a fridge
C is in severe financial hardship and relies only on Universal Credit. She has no fridge freezer, so buys food daily, increasing costs. This is affecting her well being and leaving her feeling low. Due to low platelets, low blood count and psoriasis, healthy food is essential. She has skipped meals and pawned belongings to cope. A fridge would reduce expenses and help her sustain her income and boost her health and well being.
£200 needed for fridge freezer
C has no fridge or freezer. He suffers from poor mental health so is not able to work and is trying to manage on benefits. Not being able to keep food, or buy larger quantities, is a big stressor to him and our church is not able to help him with as much food as we would like. He has his son every weekend and would like to be able to give him more fresh food rather than tins and not waste what is not eaten. With the summer coming this will be more of a problem. Thank you for any help you can give.
£200 needed for a fridge freezer
H came to the UK from Africa seeking asylum and has now been awarded 'leave to remain'. He has been unable to gain employment so is in receipt of the young person's rate of Universal Credit. This barely covers his essential costs and he is unable to meet the cost of setting up his unfurnished home. He is worried about how he will maintain his tenancy without essential goods. Could the donors please help towards the provision of a fridge freezer?
£200 needed for a washing machine
D is a single woman with multiple health issues and is currently unable to work. She has just moved to a ground floor council flat from an upstairs one, which better meets her needs. Her income is Universal Credit and Personal Independence Payment. Whilst she has been able to gather some items of furniture, she cannot afford to buy a washing machine. This would make a big difference to her as she tries to set up her new home. Please help her if you can. Thank you.
£200 needed for carpet fitting
M has recently separated from his wife of over 20 years. He has been sofa surfing, living in a caravan and has recently been granted a property with a local social landlord. M can't work as he is disabled and his only income is from benefits. The new property he has been granted doesn't come with carpets. We can provide the carpets but we're hoping that a generous Acts donor will help us to support him with fitting costs. Thanks in advance for considering this request.
£200 needed for a television and a mobile phone
J suffers from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and other mental health problems which often leave him feeling unable to leave his flat. Sadly, his flat was broken into recently and a lot of damage was caused, his TV screen was smashed and his mobile phone was stolen. The TV is a lifeline with spending so much time alone, and not having a phone makes it very difficult to maintain vital contacts. He receives Universal Credit but has little to spare and help to replace these items would be a real blessing.
£200 needed for a fridge freezer
K is unemployed and on Universal Credit and has no savings. She has limited mobility and mental health issues. Her fridge freezer has stopped working leaving her without the ability to store fresh/frozen food. She doesn't have the money to repair or replace it. Any help to purchase a new fridge freezer would be hugely appreciated.
