£200 needed for bedroom carpet
This gentleman is a refugee who has volunteered in our food club for several months now. We have helped him find a permanent place to live as he was living in supported shared housing. He is keen to find work and is at the moment working part time and claiming benefits. Recently, he has been given the keys to his own place. He has no means to furnish it and would be very grateful for any help that could be given for carpet for his bedroom as this would make the place feel like home.
£200 needed for living room carpet
This gentleman is a refugee with leave to remain. He is keen to work and make a new life in this country but up till now has not been able due to him living in supported accommodation which is very expensive. He has now been offered his own place which will allow him to look for full time work. However, although he is happy with his flat, there are no carpets and he has no means to buy any due to his finances. Any help you can give would be gratefully received.
£200 needed for flooring
This lovely gentleman went debt free with us but is still living on a very low income while he continues to look for work. After years of living in one room he is very happy to now be in a small flat but he can't afford to put in some laminate flooring that is needed. Your help with this would be much appreciated, as we head towards autumn and winter it would be great to help him stay cosy with proper flooring in place.
£200 needed for a communication app for a child
R is 5 year old who is non verbal, and suffers from a severe eating disorder. Mum is a single mum on benefits. The Augmentative/Alternative Communication app is a specialist programme allowing children to communicate but costing well beyond what Mum can afford. The family have an iPad provided by another charity to use the app on, if they can only have support to purchase the app.
£150 needed for a cooker
This applicant has recently been discharged from hospital and has been advised that her cooker is broken. As a result, she is unable to prepare hot meals, impacting both her diet and wellbeing. Due to ongoing physical and mental health conditions, this applicant is unable to work, and relies solely on Universal Credit and Personal Independence Payment. After meeting essential living costs, she cannot afford to replace this vital appliance. Any support would make a significant difference to her daily life.
£200 needed for a battery for a solar generator
Mr G has shown remarkable resilience in building a home for himself in woodland. His permanent shelter has solar panels which allow him to live sustainably and independently. However he is on a low income and has used foodbank on occasion. A generator will help him to have reliable lighting and to charge his mobile phone. The unit he has found is £408 and he is saving for this. We are seeking £200 to help support him towards this purchase which will further improve his circumstances and future.
£200 needed for a condenser dryer
S is a disabled man, he broke his back some years ago and lives with his mum. He is on benefits and struggling with rising costs. Due to complex health needs he goes through many loads of washing including bedding during the week. S does not have access to a washing line and lives on the third floor. S's health is being affected by wet washing hanging in the property. S would really benefit from a condenser dryer so any support to achieve this would be appreciated.
£200 needed for a laptop
We have been supporting C with food for a few weeks as she has been out of work. She has said she would like to pursue setting up her own charity helping people on low income to be matched with private landlords as she sees this can be a barrier to safe and secure housing. She is a Christian and asked for prayer that God would make a way for her to help others through her work. C says that if she had a laptop it would mean she wouldn't have to keep going to the library.
£200 needed for a washing machine
C is a single mum caring for two children, the youngest of whom is one year old and the other child is nine. Her only source of income is benefits. As a single mum, C has no one to help her look after the children. The family are in temporary accommodation and are being moved to a longer term property (but still classed as temporary). The accommodation they are moving into has no fridge or freezer or washing machine. C would be so grateful for your help to purchase one of these items.
