A Fresh Start for Olivia and Her Children

A home should be a place of sanctuary and safety. This wasn’t the case for *Olivia, a young mum whose life was turned upside down after experiencing domestic violence.

Olivia and her children were rehoused for their own safety and found themselves having to start afresh in a new house.

As a single mum on a low income, Olivia had very little money to furnish the property and turn it into a home. Without a strong support network around her, she had no one to turn to for help, particularly when it came to providing beds for her children.

Thankfully, a local church was able to meet with Olivia, listen to her story and understand her situation. They then placed a request on the Acts 435 website, asking for support.

Acts 435 donors were able to help with the cost of two single beds and some bedding for the children. Olivia was overwhelmed by the support she had received:

"I feel a mixture of happiness and relief, a weight lifted off my shoulders and just overwhelmed. Not many people understand how hard it is to trust a stranger, especially like myself, but these donors have really given me hope for the future."

We are always deeply moved by the generosity of those who give towards Acts 435 requests. These small acts of kindness can make a huge difference, providing practical support, restoring dignity and most importantly, reminding people that even in the most difficult circumstances there are people who care.
