Giving joy for Christmas

Sometimes the simplest gifts bring joy to those who are facing hardship and poverty.

Last Christmas we helped Jana*, a single mother facing Christmas with little joy. She is on benefits and is a full-time carer for her disabled son, who also suffers from autism. Sadly, she has no family to help her, and she is in severe poverty. She was desperate to give her son a better Christmas than she was able to afford to do.

Acts 435 donors stepped in to help her with the cost of Christmas presents and food in time for Christmas. On receiving the help, she was overwhelmed that she could now be able to afford some presents and food for Christmas Day. Jana said:

I would like to say a really big thank you to everyone who donated so that me and my boy can have a Christmas which I really thought we wouldn't be having this year, especially with everything has happened in my life. I will have one happy boy on Christmas morning, as he will have a Christmas Day.
