Help to declutter for better mental health
Tori* is a single mum who needed a skip to remove excess items from her home. A family support worker has been supporting Tori and her two children, who are aged 2 and 9. Both the children are currently being assessed for neurodivergence. Tori was in desperate need to hire a skip, but was unable to afford to pay for the skip because of her limited income - she works part-time and is on Universal Credit. Our local partner was helping to provide food bank support, and posted a request for help with the skip. Both Tori, and our partner charity, were so grateful for the support that they received through Acts 435, they wrote:
We are very grateful for your generosity and appreciate your support for this family. The skip has been delivered and we have received the following message from the family's support worker:

"Please pass on my HUGE thanks to the kind people who have given. The mum I am supporting has experienced multiple traumatic events in her life. This has impacted her mental health and, although she adores her two girls, she has been neglecting her own health – physical and emotional. With encouragement, she has been able to make a start on decluttering her flat.
At the start of our support, the fire service raised concerns as they would not be able to escape safely if there was a fire. We have worked with re-housing Tori, and with support she has cleared I cannot tell you how many bin bags – hundreds!
This has made the flat clear, safe and now looks homely. The eldest daughter is 10 today and it has been a treat to see how proud mum was to lay out a tablecloth to put a birthday cake on. Once the flat is cleared, Tori and her daughters are looking forward to inviting friends round.
The skip was the practical and emotional kick start to making a difference. Tori is very touched that others think she is worth helping. She is very appreciative. She says she cannot even put into words how grateful she is. Can you please pass on our thanks?"
You are making a big difference to a family in need. Thank you so much.
