Kindness in Difficult Times

*Steve’s life was turned upside down after being diagnosed with a chronic illness.

The condition often leaves him bedridden and eventually forced him to stop working. Due to this Steve’s income and subsequently his quality of life suffered. To make matters worse Steve’s partner also lost her job. Within a few months this family had gone from being a comfortable double income household to being financially stretched and reliant on benefits.

Steve was still awaiting his medical treatment plan and with no opportunity to work, the bills began to mount up. Even basic household essentials were becoming hard to afford. Christians Against Poverty stepped in to help the family who had fallen behind on utilities and bills.

As Steve’s physical health declined, the strain on his mental wellbeing also grew. Thanks to the generosity of Acts 435 donors, the family received vital support to help clear their utility arrears and relieve some of the financial burden they were carrying.

Steve was deeply moved by the kindness shown to him and broke down in tears after hearing that strangers had chosen to help.

“This impact has helped so much in a real time of need and has eased the pressure illness has taken on his financial situation. Steve has asked me to personally thank those who have donated and helped his circumstances in such a challenging season.” - Local Advocate

Small acts of kindness can make an enormous difference to people facing difficult circumstances. In moments of hardship, knowing that others care and are willing to help can bring hope, comfort, and relief.
