Much Needed Breathing Room
Life has been incredibly difficult for Meghan*. Last year, she experienced a breakdown and struggled to see a way forward. Unable to work and without close family or friends to lean on, she was relying entirely on benefits just to get by.
As time went on, her debts began to mount, and her situation quickly spiralled as bailiffs started knocking at her door. Meghan managed to clear her outstanding debts, but doing so left her with nothing to cover food or household bills for the month ahead.
Sadly, there are many people across the UK, like Meghan, facing overwhelming hardship with little or no support network to turn to.

Meghan’s situation highlights the vital role local churches and charities play in bringing hope to communities across the country. Thankfully, our Acts 435 partner charity, Gateway M40 was there for Meghan when she needed help most.
A request for gas, electric, and food vouchers was placed on the Acts 435 website, and within just two days the request had been fully met. Thanks to the generosity of donors, Meghan no longer has to worry about how she will manage her living costs this month and now has some much-needed breathing room to begin getting back on her feet.
"I cannot thank you enough for helping me, I don`t know what I would of done without your help, I had no food and no gas or electric on my meters you have saved me just at the right time, I feel like you are my guardian angel, thank you and God bless." - Meghan, Manchester
Small acts of kindness have a quiet but powerful way of reminding people that they are valued, truly seen, and deeply important. A thoughtful word, a helping hand, or a moment of genuine care can leave a lasting impact and bring hope to someone who needs it most.
