A new home, a new sense of hope

A home should be a place of safety and comfort, somewhere you can escape the stresses of everyday life. But over time, Simon’s home had become increasingly difficult to live in.

His physical and mental health had begun to take a serious toll. As his mobility became more difficult, even climbing the stairs was a struggle and he eventually found himself sleeping on the sofa downstairs. To make matters worse, his gas supply was cut off, leaving him without hot water. Unable to work and with very little money, Simon felt he had nowhere to turn.

Thankfully, with the support of several agencies, Simon was able to move into a new home that was safer and more manageable for him. However, there was still one problem: the property didn’t have a working washing machine. With his health conditions, travelling to a laundrette would have been extremely difficult.

Thanks to the wonderful generosity of Acts 435 donors, Simon was able to get a new washing machine, something that has made a real difference to his daily life.

“His new home is so much better, he looks better and is feeling better. He was really excited to run his first wash through! He is so thankful to you, for your help and support, for giving him a chance and for doing something so kind for a stranger.” - Acts 435 Advocate

Life continues to present challenges for Simon, but having a safe, affordable home has made a huge difference to his wellbeing, particularly his mental and physical health. Knowing that anonymous Acts 435 donors cared enough to help him buy a washing machine has also given him a renewed sense of dignity, hope and the confidence to move forward.

You can make a difference for someone facing a crisis or hardship today.
