The gift of family time
Tara* recently moved into a new property with her children. She had a second hand washing machine that caught on fire, and even though she is very careful with her finances couldn't afford to replace it.
A friend had helped her to use the launderette but it was taking a lot of time to wash their clothes this way. Her local Acts 435 Advocate put in a request for help to replace her washing machine, which was quickly met.
The new washing machine is going to give Tara and her children some more time together as a family as she doesn't need to take the washing to the launderette or hand wash it. She said:
Great news, especially as the kids are going to school and coming home full of paint and other stuff. Great days for them, hard work for me, but hey happy days. I can wash their clothes now and not worry about the stains. Washing by hand never really got them clean. Plus, they will dry quicker because they have been spun. Thank you so much, I can spend a bit more quality time with the family now instead of being stuck in a sink. I’m so happy, I might even offer the delivery man a brew for bringing it.
