The gift of heating and lights

Bridget* and her husband, who have worked all their lives, are both sixty two years old. Sadly, B's husband has been taken seriously ill is unable to work, and is only receiving Statutory Sick Pay. The money coming into the home just about covers rent and bills, leaving no money for food, gas and electric. They were in desperate need, and had nobody else to turn to for help. Bridget was so upset when she contacted our local partner as she felt very ashamed. The partner charity requested help with their gas and electric, as well as an airfryer to keep their costs down.

After receiving help, Bridget said:

I cannot tell you how much of a lifesaver this is to us. To be able to do a big shop that will keep us going feels like the weight of the world has been lifted off my shoulders. I have always taken for granted that the gas and electric would always be on. How wrong I was! So this gift of heating and lights from you is wonderful. And I am very excited to use my air fryer that will keep the costs down. You have brought us out of a dark place and we are eternally grateful.
