Our friend is a highly motivated 22 year old man who had to flee from Sudan due to the ongoing civil war. He hadn't completed his education, and he is desperate to improve his English so that he can progress to studying and working as a mechanic. Due to the demand for course places, he only has a few hours each week. He is keen to accelerate his learning so he can quickly move into employment in mechanics. A laptop will enable him to spend extra hours enhancing his class learning.

We are supporting a young man who is seeking asylum in the UK after fleeing the conflict in Sudan. He appears to us to be a very motivated young man who has experience of computer programming but who needs to do significant further work on his English. He would be really helped by having a laptop which would both enable him to study and improve his English outside of class but also enable him to develop his computer programming skills which is where he sees his future employment.
