Chocolate & Co

An innovative charity, we provide employment and volunteering opportunities at a café in York. Through this, we break down the barriers to employment for those socially excluded and living on the fringes of our community. Our nurturing, person centred employment model, recognises the complex needs where our beneficiaries require additional support. We work with our beneficiaries for up to 12 months and as their confidence and self-esteem grows, we support them into further employment, continuing to mentor them in their new role. In addition to this we support the wider community through our Pay It Forward board, offering a free meal and drink to those in need. And we organise outreach activities in our community including well being and exercise sessions.
